Présentation : Histoire :
Enthusiastic committed couple looking for full time crew position on a charter or private sailing yacht.

Can start upon request.

HIM: I am a Yachtmaster Ocean and a qualified PADI Divemaster seeking a position together with my partner.

I have an excellent professional and academic background and possess a wide variety of skills that are important in the private and charter sailing industry. They include, amongst other skills, international hospitality management, motivating teams, co-ordinating groups of people to achieve common goals, financial advisor/management skills and I speak four languages (Dutch, English, French, German).

I have practical experience as an engineer in maintaining diesel engines, GRP repair, rigging and deck gear, sails, pumps and heads, including yearly maintenance of all equipment.

I have good knowledge of instructing people in the art of sailing. In addition I am a good host who knows what it takes to run a good charter and to make people feel comfortable on a sailboat.

HER: After a career in tourism and hospitality I was looking to follow my life long interest in sailing and the marine leisure industry together with my partner. To further this aim I have obtained RYA sailing qualifications and gained experience as a first mate/mate, charter chef and stewardess.

As a first mate / deckhand I take care of general on-deck duties and maintenance. During passage making I stand full watch and participate in all aspects of navigation and ship handling.

As a yacht chef I can provide a healthy balanced modern French /Mediterranean cuisine.

I prefer to freshly prepare most foods myself including bread, cakes, dips, soups, sauces etc. I can organize buffets, punch and cocktail parties, beach barbecues and picnics for four up to 40 people or more, from basic "crisps and beer" formula to very elaborate cocktails and canapés.

I create my own menus including cooked breakfasts, light lunches, hors d'oeuvres and three-course dinners with careful food provisioning to ensure guests eat a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables.

I know how to take care of all interior duties: general and detail cleaning, shopping and provision of supplies, making beds and general upkeep of the interior, laundry, floral arrangements and stylish decoration.

I am fluent in English, French and German and speak some basic Dutch.

US: We would describe ourselves as hard working, responsible, adaptable, creative and open to new ideas and changes. Sense of humour and, more importantly, never seasick, only "landsick"!!!!

We have always worked as a team and enjoy spending time together. Our joint sailing experience gives us the expertise to take care of a sailboat and all its aspects and the knowledge to create excellent charters with a variety of groups as well as providing an exclusive environment for private owners.

As a captain/engineer and a first mate/chef/stewardess we make an excellent team.

Please contact us if you need a reliable and devoted crew. We are available upon request and hope to be back on board a boat as soon as possible!!!!!

HIM: I have been a keen yachtsman from an early age sailing in Dutch waters and progressing through time to larger sailing vessels. I sailed as skipper and crew on various sailing vessels exploring the Eastern U.S. coastal waters from Connecticut down to Florida and also reached for the Bahamas and Bermuda.
In Europe I have sailed extensively in the English Channel and explored the Irish Sea and the French coast. I have also sailed half the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean and Caribbean waters and I have gained a good all round experience on a variety of sailing vessels.

HER: Most of my sailing was shorthanded on medium-sized yachts being crew, first mate, maintenance person, general problem solver and cook.

I have also sailed on a wide range of other boats from 28 to 72 feet and have general onboard maintenance skills.

US: We spent the summer of 2004 in Mediterranean waters, sailing the beautiful Ionian Sea in Greece, exploring the islands as a flotilla lead crew from up North in Corfu all the way down South to Kefalonia and Ithaka.

The following season we worked on a 55 feet charter sailing vessel based in the British Virgin Islands providing first class food and sailing for parties of up to six guests. We went everywhere in the area from famous Norman ("Treasure") Island to the Bitter End Yacht Club via lush Virgin Gorda and its famous "Baths" to the reefs of Anegada and also ventured into the US Virgin Islands.

After that we delivered a 60 foot sailing yacht from Britanny to the lush verdant Azores islands during a long Ocean passage. On most days dolphins would swim alongside, once even a whale popped up nearby to take a quick look!

Last year found us on an Abeking & Rasmussen 107’ Classic Wishbone Ketch with a multitude of sails and masts!

We made our way from the Canaries via Madeira through the Strait of Gibraltar - no whale this time, a lot of dolphins though playing right under the bowsprit, but turtles, turtles and more turtles! We were certainly sailing along a turtle highway into the Med!!! After stopping over in Almeria and Palma de Mallorca we finally arrived at our base for the summer, Porto Maurizio on the Ligurian coast, where Fabio's restaurant has the best pizzas in the world, closely followd by the most phantastic ''gelatos''.

Besides ejoying the gastronomic delights of Italy, we also extensively sailed around Corsica, the Côte d'Azur and the Italian Riviera.

We have no favourite spot in Corsica, since the whole island is stunningly beautiful, from its snow covered mountains through pig-inhabited chestnut tree forests down to a multitude of bays and beaches.

Cannes certainly deserves the ''best market'' award, and ''Le Colombier - Plage'' in Juan-les-Pins takes you straight halfway around the world to what could be a beach bar in Hawaii!
